Position Overview:
The Lab Technician will primarily assist in performing all operations involving process and product testing in the laboratory.
This individual is also responsible for maintaining all chemical and equipment inventories of supplies related to operations conducted in the laboratory.
Essential Job
Responsibilities:
Inventory Control:
Track chemical, test panel, and supply inventories in the lab and, as needed, submit purchasing requisitions.
Maintain chemical labeling and storage areas in the lab.
Perform all receiving inspections related to chemicals, test panels, and equipment received for lab use.
Process Testing:
Perform all testing related to the chemical and contaminant concentrations of the process solution chemistries in the Metal Finishing Department.
Determine the necessary chemical additions required to maintain process solution compliance.
Record all process test results and additions while maintaining computer files containing such information.
Product Testing:
Perform material analysis including coating weight, thickness, paint adhesion, corrosion and abrasion resistance, electrical resistivity, etch and anodize rates, etc.
Maintain document control and organization of all product testing being conducted.
Product Processing:
Prepare specialized chemical process solutions for non-standard customer testing and/or processing requests.
Perform small, specialized, chemical processes as required by customer requests.
Complete applicable data records and inspection logs.
Participate in on-going training sessions related to chemical processing, product testing, process testing, and quality control.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, periodic testing, and performance evaluations.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
A detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Develop a thorough understanding of applicable MIL general procedures as well as safety and environmental practices and procedures.
Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks on short deadlines and/or under pressure.
Learn to use calibration equipment for verification of conformity.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
Experience operating a forklift preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable data entry software applications.
Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
Individual must be authorized to work in the U.
S.
under one of the following criteria:

A non-citizen National of the United States.
Reports To:
The Lab Technician will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.
Hours:
Day shift; Monday - Friday, 6 a.
m.

; must be flexible to work overtime and additional hours as needed to support the department in times of increased demand.
