THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION ONLY Essential Responsibilities :
Envision Unlimited Community Day services program is seeking a Group Respite Enrollment Assistant to support our Adventures Unlimited program.
The candidate will be responsible for finding eligible individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities', and those of whom currently do not have DHS waiver services.
Some of the engagements and activities you will be required to attend include; vocational job fairs, speaking to parents at these type of events, and providing resources for individuals with intellectual disabilities loved ones.
The candidate must be comfortable talking to a number of individuals.
Experience with the IDD population is desired but not a requirement, we will train someone who is compassionate about helping people with disabilities and a willingness to learn.
Purpose:
Adventures Unlimited is a respite program offered to families in need of care and services in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Adventures Unlimited seeks to provide individuals and families with programming that meets their needs.
Our programming addresses a wide range of interests and strengths, fosters self-esteem, builds confidence, and brings out the adventurer in us all.
This program is hoping to add one more team member.

o Conduct outreach opportunities at local schools, vocational fairs, conferences, and community events.
o Cold-calling individuals who have previously expressed interest in receiving services for themselves or a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
o Conduct interviews with individuals and family members to introduce the program and inquire about the needs of the household as it pertains to respite services.
o Must be organized and take pertinent notes regarding preferences, behavioral needs and care required prior to scheduling an in-person activity.
o Conduct exit surveys with each member after each activity to record feedback after participation in Adventures Unlimited activities.
o Help schedule/organize calendar of events.
o Help organize receipts for events.
o Excellent communication skillsNice To Haves:
(but not required) o Six months or more experience working with the DD/ID population.
o College course work in related field?(social work/psychology/sociology/special education/rehabilitation/human services?etc.
) o Bi-lingual in Spanish.
o Hobby skills in the arena dance, arts & crafts, theater, gardening, sewing etc.
Qualifications:
o High School diploma or GED equivalent o Must attend mandatory new hire orientation training.
o Must pass full background check.
o Must obtain a DCFS mandated reported certificate and maintaining annual certification for OIG mandated reporter for abuse and neglect, and rule 50.
o Valid driver license with proof of insurance.
o Access to a reliable vehicle.
o Able and willing to drive agency minivan when necessary.
o Willing to attend a variety of Adventures upon request.
o Computer competency.
o Experience working with IDD population and or familiarity.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
